The year is 2050, and the merger between Apple Technology and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals created, Medesyne, the number one leading healthcare/tech corporate industry worldwide. They saved millions suffering from mental health illnesses. Depression, anxiety & substance abuse have decreased substantially since the nano-tech V-chip was invented in 2040. But when Michelle Anderson wakes from a coma, fragments of her memory are missing and replaced by new ones. Her V-network is fuzzy; holographic ads fade in and out & strange voices speak to her. But who can she trust? Is she going insane or is this just a glitch in the system? Most people are not able to decipher the difference between the real memories and the new, V-chip implanted memories. The microchip insertion procedure is usually harmless. People wake after surgery refreshed as past negative memories are wiped away and sweet, new ones are replaced.
But what happens when the majority of the population is under the control of Medesyne’s V-chip? Living with a defective V-chip has been a nightmare for Michelle. However, her hope is restored when she realizes she has telepathy with members of the “Tenth Percentile”- a group of people who have an adverse reaction to the V-chip, causing them to develop super human powers and immunity from thought control.
