Gospel of Fear & Legalism or Gospel of Love & Grace, which narrative have you been taught?

"...Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven..." (Matthew 6:10)

But is this message what is preached in our churches? Some, yes, but too many are still living in an old convenient work-based salvation mindset. The way to understand God is through the Holy Spirit, whom guides us to the image and likeness of the ones true God.  That image is God’s word (the “Logos”), the savior of the world, the one and only true Messiah, The suffering servant, the light bearer.  This logos of God, is Jesus and was God from the beginning, but God made him to be human, the second Adam.  For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive (1 Cor. 15:22).  Created through the holy spirit of God, dwelling inside Mary.  So to become our redemption.  Because the first Adam failed to follow will of his father, the second son of God, became flesh and the angel came to Mary and said not to fear because her son would be the savior of the WORLD.  To Joseph the angel came again and told him Mary’s baby is of the spirit and will be called, Jesus meaning “to save”.  Behold, you will conceive & give birth to a son, & you shall give Him the name Jesus (Luke 1:31).

Our creator, the God of everlasting and perfect love equates to only one interpretation of scripture, and that is simply that everything God does is with love and purpose.

The way to understand God is through the son, Jesus.

Recognizing this connection within us should not come from tradition, but rather, from a pure quest for truth in God’s word.  As God transformed man’s pride into confusion through the tower of babel, so has he done through centuries of bible translations and lost letters from the early church.  We are supposed to ponder and biker gingerly among friends and neighbors about such things.  Otherwise, if God chose to reveal truth exactly as is, it would make our relationship with him, too controlled and with control, there is no freedom, yet without freedom, there is no hope.  So I believe God intends to draw us closer to him by giving us our own unique storyline, through trials and tribulations that ultimately lead to our repentance and reverence of God, the father.  Like Jesus said on the cross, “Forgive them, for they no not what they do”  Do you think God forgave them?  If so, why are we still clinging to this concept of a sadistic God who would allow the majority of his creation become annihilated or worse, as the traditional view believes, eternal conscious suffering in a literal pit of fire.  This, without question in my mind is what Timothy warns about in 1 Timothy 4:1-16,  1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. Does this mean that evil will not be punished?  No!  Not at all.  For as we know from scripture, God is a consuming fire.  Whether we experience our second death to “self” here on earth, or in the afterlife, ALL will experience it through Christ, we will just arrive in different time periods after our earthy death. For our God is a consuming fire! Hebrews 12:29.  The consuming “fire” is God’s love, wrath and just conviction for sin.  But he is not, as man is, retributive in his ways.  Rather, he is restorative.  He also did not has his son tortured and killed so he pour out his wrath and condemn the rest of us to guilt, fear or anger toward this terribly depicted “Monster God.”  I will go into that more later on.  Ultimately, as quoted by Jesus himself, “When I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” John 12:32. But  what about all the evil people in the world!  Shouldn’t they suffer?  Why does God allow this to happen in the world?  Also- why should bad people end up in heaven (eventually)?  Here is my short answer taken from Isaiah- 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.… Isaiah 55:8-9 Yes, God is holy and no sin can enter into heaven.  But what is avoided in most sermons is the topic of the Greek word, “Telos” (English for “end”) and “Eons” (English translation would be “Ages”).  These are the time periods within God's creation.  He deals with people in different time periods.  Believers will enter the kingdom , however, the non-believers will not perish because, as in scripture, God will get what he wants in the end.  Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. Isaiah 46:10. And God desires all to be saved. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9.    One God  = Agape Love = Jesus = Truth= Holy Spirit

1 Timothy 4:10-  “That is why we labor and strive, because

we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of ALL people, and especially of those who believe.”

The gospel of Paul has not only opened my heart to the truth of God’s everlasting love for all of creation, but also the fragile conditionality of the mind and how important it is to keep it pure and without seared consciousness.  Anything not of love, is not of God.  There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18. This is clear that one conditioned to live in fear, comes as a result of an oppressive society. It is also written in gospel of John, that, ...We have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. 1 John 4:16 .

Someone may very well look at a verse like this one and say, well ya, but… what about God’s wrath, jealousy, judgement and hell?  This way of thinking can divide even the most loving, well meaning Christians.  I will get to these concepts a little later.    Hebrew 12:29- For our God is a consuming fire.  creating more sin, lies and division among God’s creation. These learned conditions have been fed to all of us through human culture, traditions and society.  As most educated people already know, due to the bombardment of subliminal messages and doctrines of falsity woven within the threads of a fallen nation, we are subjected to dangerous influences.  Throughout the New England, there has been a significant drop of religious membership, especially within the Christian traditions.  This is largely due to the mixed messages being preached and practiced.  The most concerning is the hypocrisy among Christian leaders within our region, but also around the whole United States!  The political oppressors, knowingly or not, have ensnared our church communities.  You may be thinking, yeah, yeah, we all know the corruption within the churches, but my faith is strong, so who cares?... I just “take what I need and leave the rest”.   So why bother addressing this issue?  After all, it’s a free country, let people believe what they believe and go where they want to go for their spiritual growth.

Actually, it does matter.  Did you know 2 out of every 4 suicides have been centered around some kind of fear centered around religion?  Being half in and half out or taking what you need, and leaving the rest wouldn’t matter in relation to a cooking class, a mandatory seminar on economics or a lecture on civics.  But we are talking about mental health, religious freedom, community building, morality themed lessons for our children.  How can we participate in a system that feeds only half, or even partial truths?

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20, KJB)

My point here is not to do with denominations or various theories about subsections within the bible.  I am concerned with the foundational beliefs being taught in Christianity.  This is where the perception of a hypomanic, hot tempered, sadistic “God” evolves.  The perversion of the gospel, used to manipulate people into worshipping out of fear instead of love.  One cannot doubt this must in fact be a depiction of the symbolic, “Beast from the Sea” outlined in the book of Revelation and book of Daniel the prophet.  The false indoctrination that took centuries to fully blossom into a traditional belief that God decides to send most of his creation into an eternal fire of endless agony, dread and despair after blessing them for their entire life here on earth.

1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons…”

I often get accused of heresy.  I follow the early church leaders from Paul to Oriegon, to Athanasius to Gregory of Nyssa.  I believe in love.  I believe God sent his son, Jesus Christ to endure the suffering of all the evil created from man’s decision to sin.  I believe God was with him throughout that experience and only left him when he was dead in the tomb for 3 days.  Then, when God rose Jesus from the dead, hundreds saw him and walked with him while he was still in his fleshly body.  Then, on Pentecost, when he ascended into heaven to be with his father, his work on earth to save all mankind from sin, was official accomplished.  Our Lord and savior was 100% successful.  No one will suffer in their sins forever in a Pagan mythological torture land, controlled by the devil.  That would mean, Christ died in vain and that, is heresy.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 - 10 “and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11 For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie, 12 in order that judgment will come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.…”

Romans 8:15 - For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"

Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.                                1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all and all there a end of jesus reign then God will be all and all.

I am an enthusiastic daughter of God before anything! I serve as a literacy consultant, an Adult ESL teacher, a creative writing enthusiast, and a happy mommy ! Aside from being a better mom by challenging myself to take the time to work with her on kindergarten reading & math goals, including participating in some of her very imaginative play games, my goal has also been to write a couple blogs a week. I am trying to stay connected to the world in a spiritual, educational and hopefully inspirational way to bring joy to other blog readers! Not to mention a nice break up in the monotony of everyday mom life.
