Our True Home

Our True Home

Our “identity” in Christ was established before the worlds were formed.

The Divine Sanctuary was our birthplace – as said so beautifully, “heaven is the song we were born remembering.” This is our True “Home,” where we were first known and loved, where we were the Object of Divine Delight.

But, so many loud voices from birth onwards attempt to convince us of all that is NOT true about ourselves, others, our world. Christ is our ONLY accurate mirror, yet the world puts up dozens of carnival “funhouse” mirrors that present us with devastating, yet convincing, deceptions.

By faith and trust, we can “see” past those lies into what is True and Eternal from God’s perspective.

This is a lifelong journey into the depths as He teaches us and shows us new things, not a 1-time transaction. It is becoming aware that we are branches on a Vine, waves on an Ocean… learning childlike trust, seeing Christ’s Beauty in people and things, and experiencing what is Real.

Our souls seem to become more aware of REALITY when under the stars, in the woods, by the ocean – in silence, listening to the stillness and seeing with the eyes of our hearts. Sometimes, in unexpected interactions with others. And of course, in the daily grind of the ordinary… when we’re paying attention.

Christ, help me be present to the moments You provide. Remind me of my Original Home, so I can explore your Inner Universe within, and find that sweet place of Rest.

I am an enthusiastic daughter of God before anything! I serve as a literacy consultant, an Adult ESL teacher, a creative writing enthusiast, and a happy mommy ! Aside from being a better mom by challenging myself to take the time to work with her on kindergarten reading & math goals, including participating in some of her very imaginative play games, my goal has also been to write a couple blogs a week. I am trying to stay connected to the world in a spiritual, educational and hopefully inspirational way to bring joy to other blog readers! Not to mention a nice break up in the monotony of everyday mom life.
